Conversation between Inglume and CRAPREVIEWS

Don't worry dude. I understand what you mean. I'm a fan of both channels too, even though I disagree with a lot of their opinions, especially in 2019

Btw that wasn’t a poke to you. Your reviews are great and easy to understand. I’m not dyslexic. It was just an example. I am a fan of both channels.

I wasn’t referencing you, I was referencing Spectrum Pulse.
Jun 22, 2019
Your reviews don’t but I’ve seen people with that style of format.

I might wanna just stick to KIDWITHGUNS reviewing format where the first sentence highlights the rest of the aesthetic and then say what you need to say. Just a quick note, I try not to keep my reviews like the human dictionary I try to write a casual review as the same vocabulary as Anthony Fantano instead of Spectrum Pulse because it captures and wider like ratio.

That’s exactly what I do when I add genres. If it reminds of a song/album I’ve heard before that sounds pretty much indentical, I add it on the genre tags.

Keep in mind, I'm just a casual reviewer and music listener, so this is just what I think. If you want some good examples of reviews, I'd recommend taking a look at WhatTheFunk's reviews for the content and PipePanic's reviews for the formatting. Glad to help! :)

For your reviews, I'd recommend taking the time to talk about and discuss more about the artist, but don't keep the reviews too lengthy. For albums that aren't a debut, you could discuss the quality of the album by relating it to previous albums and explain its qualities and duds. I'd think making some aesthetic changes would be good too, like breaking large portions of text into smaller paragraphs and chunks.

Well, I'm not that familiar with music theory either so I can't help you with your first question. If you have trouble describing genres when reviewing, I'd say try to take note of what's going on musically and compare it to other projects you've heard and come with a conclusion. Genres are usually a hard thing to decipher and it's sometimes subjective, so you're not always gonna be spot on.

Quick questions, I’m not that familiar with music theory that much as most users in the site, how am I supposed to descript the types of drum beats and pizzicato shit right away? I add genres to some projects that actually stick on the tag section but with reviewing, how am I supposed to tell with the music ear? Also what’s one tip that should up my reviews.

Practically every AOTY user I know (including me) has made at least one braindead review on this site, lol. I guess it's just part of our nature to not give a shit once in a while. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Jun 20, 2019
Yeah I just started to write actual reviews instead the braindead one sentence reviews I used to make.

Hmm, ok. I was mainly confused as to why he randomly trash-talked you in your shout, even though you didn't say anything to him negatively. Anyways, keep up with the reviews! Especially loved your Solace review.

I called him out for in my opinion, I believe he just trash talks and disses smaller AOTY users for no apparent reason, yet he's always trying to get attention from the bigger users such as "Brad" or "exception."

Damn, what's the beef between you and AZIZ?
