Loathe - I Let It in and It Took Everything
Feb 10, 2020
90
Solid, stop-start nu school hardcore in the vein of Code Orange with a distinctly Djent bass sound that gives way to some modern gazecore patches comparable to a brit-inflected Turnover. That's a huge and very specific description but it felt so appropriate coming out of my fingers so wtvr we'll go with it. If you like your hardcore pure ugly and your beatdowns wall to wall, maybe stay away, but if you like it when you can't tell if the next track will stomp or simper - a vibe i can really get behind - this could be an AOTY for sure. And then theres that track near the end that sounds exactly like Deftones but with the bass channel turned right up.
First metal release of the year that i'm genuinely really stoked on.
