I'm not really familiar with The Frights, but for some reason I really like this album. The over all sound and instrumentals of it find a way to never really bore me. Lyrically, it's sometimes a bit of a drag, but at least it has substance without being too 'in your face'.
In the end, the record kinda feels like simplicity with a few sparks of originality on top of it. For example the guitar and harmonica have interesting sound-effects like white noise or percussions layered on top of it.
