this album rocked my shit. some of the songs here are electronic masterpieces and the way she blends this dance/house sound with the violin is simply brilliant. my only problem with this album really is that the songs got progressively worse as the album went on, primarily by the end. i don't think they're bad songs at all, don't get me wrong, but i do feel like, had the album ended on track 11 'THE BPM', it would've been much better. the last 4 tracks bring the ... read more
really good! cameron winter's voice when he sings is not just pleasing to the ear but very impactful and resonating with the listener too. the instrumentals behind every song also feel super melancholic and touching yet soothing. only reason this isn't rated higher is because this is my intro to rock music and i'm still not that into it for it to be any higher + the last track 'Long Island City Here I Come' is a little underwhelming/doesn't stand up to the rest of ... read more
Much like a rollercoaster, epistolares is an exhilarating experience all throughout, but succumbs to commercial choices that hit the project's artistic value.
easily my favorite pop album at the moment. the instrumentals in each song are insane and each feel so extremely unique. each song has a certain vibe to it but they all clash and blend so well and make up a beautiful project. the album has an insane run of tracks 5, 'Shy Boy', through 11, 'Put It To Rest' and i'd classify all of those songs as hits. there's only a few songs in the album (i'd say) that weigh the album down in 'After Last Night', ... read more
the linear storytelling in this album is amazing. i loved the way Lilly narrated the album. it felt like a short story was being read to me. it makes me want to listen to the entire album in order from start to finish, without the need for shuffling or skipping. the shift in tone and rhythm in songs helps reflect and understand the intensity of Allen's feelings, as well as her thought process, throughout the story, and it makes the storytelling that much better. however, at times the album ... read more
Arca's ability to experiment with reggaeton never fails to impress. this album introduced me to experimental music and, i'd say, defined the way i look at music nowadays. the run from 'Rakata' to 'Tiro' to 'Luna Llena' is insane and the transition between the 2nd and the latter is extremely well done despite their differences in rhythm and tone. my only big issue with the album is the second to last track, 'Born Yesterday'. while the production ... read more
one of my favorite deluxe versions ever and my personal favorite project of ROSALÍA's. the songs on the deluxe version add so much more rawness to the project which already seems extremely genuine and raw. the samples on this album are also just so extremely well done and i love every single bit of them. only miss in the entire album for me is 'La Fama'
