Reed purists discard this album as his flirtation with commercial recognition, but in doing so, dismiss one of his best albums. This collection gave him his first chart success in the U.K. for eight years and there is not a ‘dud’ track amongst them. Aside from the two singles of ‘I Love You Suzanne’ and ‘My Red Joystick’, two other standout tracks are ‘Turn to Me’ and ‘High in the City’. Maybe those who wish for Reed to keep to his Velvet Underground roots should Bear in mind the truism inspired by Aesop’s Fables that As reed before the wind lives on, while mighty oaks do fall’.
