FANTASTIC ALBUM GOATED DUO NO SKIPS

DARKSIDE - Psychic
93

this album is, as many people say, a very slow burner.. it didn't blew my mind when I first heard it, I found some of the moments here too stretched out and odd, maybe even displeasing in a long run, but deciding to listen to it again and again was the moment when it blew my mind.

the small details that are sprinkled across the whole project add so much to the overall enjoyment, and the grooves here are immaculate! like in golden arrow, for example, even though the track is 11 minutes long, ... read more

Skee Mask - Compro
80

a really good ambient album with a lot of good highlights and insane atmospheres, like "Session Add", "Rev8617", "Flyby Vfr", "Cerroverb" and more! i have one question, though, why is it off spotify and apple music? i thought there was nothing wrong with this project..

clipping. - Visions of Bodies Being Burned
90

clipping has taken a pretty interesting concept of "horror hip-hop" and brought it to near perfection! almost none of the tracks here feel filler or unnecessary, everything in this project feels like a good horror movie! it's not really "scary", but rather spooky and intriguing, some of the insane highlights for me and probably most of the listeners are "Say the Name", "Make Them Dead", "Check the Lock" and "Enlacing".

deadmau5 - W:/2016ALBUM/
60

the legendary deadmau5 is back with a.. kinda mediocre album. i didn't find anything new here, but it's still a pretty fun listen! some of the highlights are "4ware" and "Cat Thruster".

Boards of Canada - Music Has the Right to Children
68

even though this project is incredibly revolutionary and ahead of it's time, I can't find myself coming back to this very often. sure, the highlights of this project are incredible, like "Wildlife Analysis" or "Roygbiv", but I also find quite a couple of the tracks here pretty strange and almost empty in a way. good background album, but nothing more for me. maybe I need a couple of more listens, who knows, maybe the beauty of this LP comes from this confusion itself!

2814 - 新しい日の誕生 [Birth of a New Day]
75

i like this project for the same reasons I love "selected ambient works volume II", for it's beautiful, organic, yet urban atmosphere. although I don't come to this project as often, I recommend listening to this project, especially if you're a fan of vaporwave and abandoned aesthetics!

Death Grips - No Love Deep Web
69

for sure not my favorite from death grips, but I really respect that they doesn't give a single fuck about it! i don't know why is that, but I find that honestly kinda admirable. as a project itself, it's really dark and has a couple of bangers, but it just doesn't work out for me as a whole, full album. my highlights are the first three tracks off the album, they are almost 10/10!

lojii & Swarvy - Due Rent
77

really underrated hip-hop album with insane, abstract beats! sure it has quite a few fillers and interludes, but they doesn't really ruin the experience, at least for me. some of the highlights for me are "due rent", "wurkn class", "the fade", "do u" and of course "northern organix".

Viktor Vaughn - Vaudeville Villain
89

actually incredible project! even though it's published on a fairly unknown MF DOOM side project, it's still to this day one of the best MF DOOM albums ever made! the "filler track" problem is still there, but this time it doesn't ruin the experience as much. some highlights of mine are "Vaudeville Villain" for obvious reasons being a good rap flow and an insane beat, and "Can I Watch?", which for some weird reason isn't on this track list, but it's an amazingly ... read more

i don't know how this man does it, but he makes gibberish sound like a banger! windowlicker is probably one of the strangest, yet catchiest glitch/IDM beats I've even heard, with the sex/moaning samples actually complementing the sound of it, and the outro of it is super insane and contrasted! formula is.. indescribable, can't say anything comprehensive about it other than it being random creepy computer sounds that sometimes sound like a complete abstract masterpiece! and nannou is the least ... read more

MF DOOM - MM..FOOD
70

a pretty fun LP with the same cartoon supervillain theming, but I feel like it has the same problem as "Madvilliany" for me. it has some awesome bangers, but it also has quite a few confusing catroon-ish filler interludes that might ruin the experience.. still a great hip-hop project, though!

KIDS SEE GHOSTS - KIDS SEE GHOSTS
70

it's a really nice and motivating record, but I don't find it as incredible as many others do. maybe I need a couple of more listens to really get into the vibe and understand the true meaning of the project, but aside from bangers like "Feel the Love" or "Reborn" I don't find myself coming back to this record that often. but what I can say for sure is that it does a lot with such short track list and length in general!

Justice - †
90

one of the catchiest house records I've ever heard! can't stop dancing to classics like "D.A.N.C.E", "Newjack" or "DVNO", I also really like some of the darker tracks from the tracklist, like "Stress" or "Waters of Nazareth", not a huge fan of all two parts of "Phantom" though. must listen for sure!

Madvillain - Madvillainy
90

classic and super influential abstract hip-hop duo project that shocked the world with it's unique beats, supervillain theme and insane rap flow! sure, some tracks here are a little crazy and off putting for my taste, but I still respect the risks that has been taken on this project that soon changed the whole hip-hop industry!

Death Grips - Bottomless Pit
88

another brutal, hardcore and catchy death grips project, which feels really refreshing due to death grips coming back to what they did on "the money store". every track here feels unique, yet amazingly connects with the whole concept of the LP, having almost no fillers that can ruin the experience!! if you're a metal head, then it's a must listen!

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works Volume II
98

this is the first record that actually made me cry.. this LP has every mood, from beautiful to scary, from calm and relaxing to intense and intimidating, from calculated to organic, everything you need is here! although I can't give this LP a perfect score due to it's abnormal length and quite a lot of fillers, I still think that it's THE best ambient orientated album of all time!

Actress - Hazyville
80

this is the record that got me into "actress"! i feel like my only big issue with this LP is that there's quite a few filler tracks, and without them the album would feel exactly the same. besides that, it's a really catchy and dark piece of music, must listen!

92

incredibly hardcore record that you either love or hate. at the first listen I didn't understood shit, but after some time this record has grown on me and I started really loving it!
