Don't Be Dumb is even more of a scattershot canvas then Testing was, but managing to have those drastic detours still work and still sound like trademark Rocky. Couple that with some of his harshest bangers in his discography gives something for everyone.
This is a sound that may just not be for me.
I do really enjoy the instrumentation especially as it leans into more of that punk direction. However, the spoken word just clashes causes these songs to become slogs to get through. The first few songs make the album feel novel and unique, but it quickly begins to grow numb and repetitive.
With Heaven On Top still showcases the incredible story telling and writing of Zach Bryan along with the trademark rustic sound that has set him apart from the rest of mainstream country. That doesn't stop Bryan from also creating some of his most stadium ready country songs by incorporating a stronger presence of electric guitars and even a great addition of brass instrumentation.

My first full album experience of The Kid LAROI is a rather subdued listen, where Laroi feels like he's scaled back on the vocals that made him slightly more interesting from the rest in pop. Along with some songs that feel very messy the album having tonal problems across its runtime.
A dirtier sounding Sundress, but a more cleaner sounding Kids Turned Out Fine. With constant drum tempo changes, and an outro that gives a peek into something more experimental, it doesn't give us much to work off of with Don't Be Dumb. But to me thats not a bad thing.
