The Mars Volta - Octahedron

Octahedron sees the band taking a bit of a less complicated approach to their sound. I feel like with TMV, I tend to look for their more unique and complex songwriting, so to me this ends up being my least favorite of their albums so far. It’s definitely not bad though, and I still like it. There are just less standout moments overall. Luciforms is really good tho. Definitely one of the more catchy and climactic songs on here. Desperate Graves has a nice vocal melody and Halo of Nembutals is cool too. I think the slower moments are a little hit or miss, but idk I enjoyed this project. I’m not as hyped as I am with their other four records up until now, but it’s not a bad time at all
