Bjork is constantly getting weirder as I continue through her discography. Volta is a project that has a lot of solid moments, and I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. A lot of the sounds on here closely feel like they relate to Medulla, but also there’s some stranger moments. Declare Independence is one of those moments, and it’s my favorite song on here. I just love how abrasive and harsh it is. Her vocal performance matches really well with that feeling as well. Wanderlust is a beautiful moment, with a great instrumental and melody. Pneumonia is very simple but super pretty, and it’s a song I feel like I can just relax to. Vertebrae By Vertebrae and Earth Intruders are both good tracks. So yeah, even though this one isn’t insanely memorable compared to some of her other records, I still enjoyed it. I’m even more interested to hear what she does after this because I can see this is considered her worst, and I still liked it sooooooo woop.
