Hmmmm… okay okay. I gave this one quite a bit more time, just because initially it was a pretty confusing listen. It’s soooo much more off the wall than a lot of the stuff she’s done before this, and I love when artists experiment, so I’m okay with that. So even though not every moment clicks with me, I think I can say that I enjoy it. Overall her vocals are one of the main drawing points but in a different way, considering a lot of the stuff on here is accapella. Even though it’s cool, I don’t really think I’d find myself returning to that side of this project as much. But even with that, there are some really great songs on here. Desired Constellation is beautiful. Almost feels like a Vespertine b side but I love how minimal it is. Most of the time I will give any excuse to hear Bjork’s amazing vocals, especially when this song has some beautiful chord choices. Pleasure Is All Mine made me slightly uncomfortable at first lol but there are some insanely good melodies and production choices. Who Is It has a sick fucking beat like wtf. Oceania is so insane vocally and I love the backing vocals that accompany her. Sooo even though this isn’t my favorite Bjork album, it’s definitely an interesting one. Curious to she where she takes her sound considering she’s branching off even more.
