Utopia

After the masterpiece that is Vulincura, I was questioning the direction Bjork would go in. On utopia, it seems she didn’t venture out quite as much as some of her other records, but I kind of find that to be okay. Is this my favorite Bjork album? Nahhhhh. But I really like Arca’s production, and there are some really amazing moments here. Arisen My Senses is incredible. The instrumentation gives me chills. Body Memory didn’t grab me as much in the first portion, but by the end I was entranced. Losss has one of the most memorable melodies on this project, with again some extremely awesome production. It also finishes pretty strong with the beautiful closer, Future Forever. If this thing was condensed a bit more, I think it would be a much more solid project. Nonetheless, Bjork still hasn’t struck out on a single album. Wow.
