Lover is an anxious and lonely album parading around as a romance album. The contradicting lyrics and aesthetic makes it hard to relate to a diminishes the impact she was trying to create. While some tracks showcase the future lyricism she would train further on folklore, some songs sound like they were rushed. It’s a mixed bag of romantic and emotional songs with a very 2019 indie airy feel.
