Hurley

Another decade, another series of average-at-best Weezer albums. Looking back, I didn't give one single green score to any of '00s Weezer (though Maladroit was close) and Hurley doesn't rectify any of this. At least it recovers from the horror show that was Ratitude.
Rivers sounds generic, though he does still have some decent moments on "Memories" or "Unspoken", nothing stands out as that engaging, and he sounds downright dumb on songs like "Where's My Sex?"
There is nothing too interesting in the musical department. While some songs do things which make them stand out, most of them just... exist? Really, another Weezer album without any great riffs? C'mon! And also what is that bloody static dominating the entirety of "Time Flies"? It really transforms it from a generic closer to a horrendous one.
The lyrics are straight garbage. While some of the songs were better than the rest, you're going have to listen to Rivers' epic quest to see if his sex is under the table or beneath a carpet. Truly inspirational.
Overall, there's some decent stuff, and there's some bad stuff. Now I'm up to the point with Weezer that I just think they're a joke band. I hope to dear god that EWBAITE will be good.
