Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley Chapter 1: Snake Oil

I'm not very familiar with Diplo. I didn't even know this was a thing until it popped up on the new releases on AOTY. Hearing that Diplo made a "country" album caught my attention. I thought, eh it's worth a listen. It only 32 minutes long it can't be that bad. Right?

Well, I wouldn't call this outright terrible or offensively bad, but it is so bland. It is a glass of milk with a plate of toast bland. Which is kind of disappointing because I was kind of interested in seeing how this turned out. Even with the negative reviews. This is country pop at best. It is mostly generic pop with some acoustics so it can barely get away with the country label. The songs all feel undercooked and the features aren't interesting. And it even ends with a pointless remix of Old Town Road. Very bland and uninteresting.
