Do have a slight preference for his latest Workshop over this one, feel that one has an often more concrete sound while this somewhat struggles with what it wants to be. That being said, being a diverse selection of tracks the highs are much higher. Would love to hear more outsider house Workshop geared towards the musical avenues explored in A3 and C1. Both seem to bear subtle traditional African influences at least to my ears. A3 being obviously more club-oriented while C1 resembles the notes ... read more
As someone who liked Mosse's latest Workshop LP (more than his previous Workshop), I think I naturally found myself craving for Villalobos. But on the surface this seems to take barebones Techno to essentially trollish levels. The aesthetic radiating off this joint is Villalobos got up and left his DJ set midway through to file errands and so left the set on idle by playing Serbian dentist music a.k.a. this darn loop of a Serbian folk tune through the entire track.

Getting the opportunity to see her perform live with an ensemble sometime in the near future. There's something rather delicately striking and personal about Ivičević's music here. Subversive in how it builds upon its "sonic fictions" (as she describes it), suspends and deconstructs its moving elements.
