I mean, at this point, what more do I even need to say?

At this point, you know my roots with this band - I’ve been reviewing them in video form since 2014 and actually drafted a review of Mylo Xyloto on Facebook back in 2011 to try and figure out what the hell happened with that project; to this day, I’m still not sure I’ve got a coherent answer. But in the decade since that album, breaking down what Coldplay even is anymore is both fascinating and deeply depressing, ... read more

And.. you know, for a disco-leaning indie pop act, describing Magdalena Bay is actually a little tricky, because the palette of sound they ... read more

I’ll admit to being a little surprised this wound up on my schedule - I have no shortage of punk-adjacent indie rock popping up across Bandcamp and a lot of it runs together if the hooks aren’t that strong, and going into illuminati hotties’ debut album from a few years back, I wasn’t all that wowed. I mean, it was likable and reasonably well produced and clever in patches, but Bandcamp is stuffed with acts like this, especially when they play to a retro style in ... read more

I'm bored and so decided to make another community list; this time,

What is a record you believe has defined its genre albeit through shaping said genre, or has established said genre in popularity and/or existence, and why?
