(Buckethead Pikes #85)
Honestly I’m done hearing albums like this.
I probably would’ve given this a 5 or 6 in the past, but I’m getting to the point where I realize I can’t be so lenient on these mediocre releases he keeps pumping out. Like if you’re not going to try anything creative or thoughtful, something that shows you put a lot of effort into it, then that’s worse than being mediocre in a way. Music should be an artistic outlet to express emotions, something that Buckethead is typically very good at doing with just his guitar. That does not happen here sadly.
Here lately it almost feels like Buckethead isn’t really into what he’s releasing. He isn’t trying to evoke any emotions; these albums aren’t relaxing, or heavy, or soulful, it’s nothing. It sounds like a robot who’s auto-generating boring rock music, which Buckethead claims to be a robot so that isn’t necessarily a bad theory. I’m honestly getting pretty worried realizing there’s still 200 more albums in the series that I have to listen to. Just gotta keep on pushing through the mediocrity, and hopefully things get better.
