Billie Eilish - HIT ME HARD AND SOFT
83

Did not expect that, at all. Some of the most intresting sounds I have heard this year. Easily my favorite album of hers up to date.

Vocals are amazing, especially harmonies
Instrumentals are very different through out the album, they can go from basic pop, to a beatiful ambience, to experimental stuff.
Also the song structure has to be some of the most capturing things this album has. There was not a single song that felt like was supposed to be made for radio. I only sometimes found a few ... read more

It was fun and intresting, only track I absolutely dislike is "Hannyah".

The War on Drugs - Lost in the Dream
88

Previous albums didn’t really did THIS for me. “Lost in the dream” album is not so different in style, but it is polished, and it hits the spot.

It overally has some of the best writing so far. Songs are not just eargasm, they are actually engaging, which is the thing I majorly lacked in previous albums. Previous albums had beautiful sounds, but in the longer run, they could get repetitive. Lost in the dream has so much going on, it never hit the spot for me ... read more

Adrianne Lenker - Bright Future
89

Sad, beautiful, simple, I think I get it.

Album sounds very raw, but it’s fine, it has that vibe, like going out, having a campfire, and playing guitar, after having a sad talk with a friend.
Songs are simple, but they don’t need more, not at all. They are engaging, and beautiful already. Sometimes less is more. Lack of colorful production adds for me to the personal experience. It is like talking to a friend, very emotional, and unnecessary production would distract me (in my ... read more

Mastodon - Leviathan

Maybe I am biased as a guitar player, but these here are some of the best riffs, both to listen to, and play. They are just so much fun and make me feel like an absolute badass.
Every track is filled with amazing riffs, vocals that sound like old sailors, and drums, that fucking drums.
Leviathan is for me, a perfect mix of cave noises from previous albums, and progressive sounds that will be heard in the following albums.
It is just fun album to me, with perfect riffs, perfect pacing, and ... read more

Just as mikeal said it once on concert, you just sometimes write an album that hits a spot. I love this album top to bottom, and I will always consider it my favorite album of all time. Mostly because I always and wherever can listen to any song on the album, and I will never skip anything, and I can listen to the album on repeat, and never get bored of it.
Some of my favorite riffs in metal ever, fun to play, lovely to listen to. They can be fast, and chaotic, tense or slow, and very grim (or ... read more

Kings of Leon - Can We Please Have Fun

Very mixed on this album. Few very good songs, others felt like filler, but not very good at it. It was a bit hard to get through that album, mostly due to these fillers, but at high points I really liked this album. It is certainly not terrible, nor bad. I don’t have much to add, it is a solid, light, fun, rock album.

Ps. Not sure if I fully grasped that album on the walk, I will probably give it one more try.

Cynthoni - Sewerslvt Presents: Cynthoni, Pt. 1

Maybe I don’t understand it, but it really did not make me feel much. Yeah groove is there, drums are pretty good although the metallic sound will haunt me. I cannot really give an objective opinion, I really tried to understand it. Grinding the teeth tho was for me offensively bad, so much in fact, I wanted to turn it off immediately. Personally I’d rank it much lower, but since I think I just don’t get this style of music, it will be higher. I personally would give it 40-50

Childish Gambino - Atavista
72

He has his own style, and he sticks to it, and I love it. He has that weird, funny vibe to his songs, they sometimes feel like a dream. I can definetly imagine my dreams being narrated with these songs.
Although very weird style, all his songs are a comprehensible and coherent.
Album is full with amazing and strong tracks, I personally love last 4 songs the most, especially final church, what a way to end an album 10/10 track for me. I don’t give it 80, since I believe the songs are a ... read more

Knocked Loose - You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To

It just feels, very, veeeeery redundant, vocals don’t really change through entire album. You could take vocals from one song, and slap them on other track, and it would sound exactly the same. Riffs are constant chugging, which has to get boring by somepoint. At points it just sounds as a recorder jamming sessions. A lot of songs start out very interesting, but most end up in the very same spot where all songs go, jamming sessions recording.

Shoegaze like production, with punk rock/punk pop kind of riffs makes it intresting, but it blends with other bands that play this kind of experimental music.
I don’t believe vocalist is bad I’d just say sometimes his idea for how he wants to sings doesn’t deliver it to me. It surely keeps quite a few songs back.
But the album had its moments, quite a few very capturing melodies, and riffs, but it feels as if the said melodies just go again into this shoegaze kind of riffs, ... read more

Kamasi Washington - Fearless Movement

I am not a jazz enjoyer, but I really, really love this album. Every little bar seems to be filled with love and care, this guy cooked in the studio, and provided enough food for an entire country.
Drumming is exceptional, just as entire instrumentals of course, but with drums I mean I could listen to only them, and I would be happy, add other layers, and this is some of the best music I ever heard. Goosebumps all the way, so much goosebumps in fact, I felt cold on the hot day.

Very engaging as an album experience. With so many inspirations, you can’t say what the next song will be like. This albums is the perfect blend of folk, jazz, and modern pop music and I absolutely loved it. Catchy lines, interesting instrumentals, groove.
Only thing that really scratches my head is that, not one song really “picked off” for me, they were too short, and it made them think it could be even more, if the songs were given time to grow, develop, and have a huge ... read more

The Lemon Twigs - A Dream Is All We Know

Inspired by 60/70s’ rock music with a bit of modern touch creates a very loving album.
Catchy songs, very 70s’ vocal harmonies, corny lyrics. I really enjoyed it all the way, and it had my attention all the way. Especially since there is a wide variety of songs, in different styles. Listening to it, I can almost picture 4 man in suits smiling and singing these songs lol.
I don’t think I will give it 80, it doesn’t quite make that “special” something in me, ... read more

Eunuchs - Harbour Century

It feels like everything in one album. Bit of jazz, mixed with prog rock vibes, heavy riffs, screaming vocals, going into deep voice that sound like an old sailor telling you a story.
This album is very, very chaotic, feels like you are on a ship, that is about to sink, so much stuff happens, few calm moments. I can’t really say if I heard something like that. Almost feels like this albums was supposed to be a musical. I believe it was supposed to be an entire album experience. ... read more

Mdou Moctar - Funeral for Justice

Very very solid album, very much loved, especially that I didn’t hear anything similar to it so far.
It’s basically heavy rock n’ roll with very close east sounds, that creates a memorable experience.
Love that they sing in their language, it adds to the experience.
Musicianship on this albums feels very good, guitar have some of the best riffs and licks I heard this year, very rhythmic drums, with very eastern sound put on them. Bass wraps everything up to the very ... read more

Jessica Pratt - Here in the Pitch

Some of the most, beautiful, haunting, chill, sad 27 minutes of music.

Guitars are perfect, simple, very melodic, play in very well with the singing. These riffs are some of the most satysfying guitar stuff ever, every chord feels unique, it makes every vocal line feels special.

Not much drums, but when they appear, I love the lo-fi sound it has that jazz vibe then.

Vocals are beautiful, two times that when she makes harmonies.

The album sounds like a bewitching reimagining of like ... read more

I overally realy enjoyed the album, it has a very good mix of post grunge, and 80's grunge type of music. I really like intrumentals, vocals keep the level, and I still have problem understanding eddie (I love him for it)

Sometimes songs drag out, to the point of my head wanting to kind of skip the song, but it never got bad bad. Few filler track for me, like "react respond", or "something special" and "got to give." but some tracks sound like pearl jam I love, I ... read more

Artur Rojek - Kundel

1. Intro 5/10 - it is I guess
2. Bez Końca - 8/10 I really, really like this song, makes me want to dance, it has great pacing, it is simple, lyrics as usually top from this guy, instrumentally also very cool. Just a very, very good song overall. I only wish there was a proper outro. But maybe if he added more, it wouldn't work as well as it does as it is.
3. Fur meine liebe Gertrude - 6,5/10 - doesn't really go anywhere, I'd say, I cannot even say too much, it got my intrest, but did not ... read more

2. Beksa 8/10 now that is a song I'd choose for my comeback, very good, memorable, intresting, I just love it. Hope he sings it on a oncoming concert
3. Krótkie momenty skupienia 6/10 - it is there, but sounds a bit too basic for my liking. Simple song can be good, but this here sounds more generic than simple. Artur Rojek has his own style, and this song is definetly not it.
