The only part I wholeheartedly don't like is the squeaky balloon at the end
A Little Help From My Friends drops the score by one point here but if it replaced a song on most other singles it would drastically increase the score
It's cool, even if the Hooligans are kind of corny. If you ignore the fact that it's trying to be a diss, it's also more enjoyable.
Occasionally the production sounds like promisingly great demos (like 530). One of the only good things about the album.
Bad parts:
* Half the songs are misogynistic
* 530 2nd half is mumbled
* Fried sounds like a more boring Carnival
* Bomb sounds like a Peppa Pig song demo
* Half of Husband is played again in another song
* Last song plays in left ear
* Also about the last song, wtf is Kanye talking about? He said disparaging things about Jews to show how it's bad to be disparaging to ... read more
Vocals are kind of annoying sometimes but the atmosphere the production creates is cool
Nearly every song here is instantly catchy but some of the lyrics are weird sometimes ("Dan peed in the pool" in "Steve's Going to London", for example)
It's kind of sad. Songs like "Do It", "Paid", and "Carnival" are great but it just feels like Kanye sabotages an otherwise good song every time with his mindlessly sad provocative lyrics. "Carnival" would be one of his best songs--his performance on it is amazing too--but the lyrics and meaning behind them are so stupid or mentally ill. The first half of the song "Vultures" is the worst rapping/provocation I have ever heard from Kanye, but ... read more
It sounds like it should be good but it's lowkey uninteresting. I can appreciate one or two ideas on the thing though.
Got some good songs. I like "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart", which is very fun/sad and jingley. The "oh-oh-oh-oh-oh" in "My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys" is also really catchy. Florida!!! is kind of annoying though.
The chorus is ever so slightly entertaining, but this song is mostly just background music.
Kind of corny but genuinely a really catchy track with sharp production
The only song I think is all-around great is Sir Duke. The rest are pretty good, ok, or mid. Still better than the first time I listened to it, in which it was a slog to get through the album, but it's grown on me. Still probably too long of an album though. Innervisions better
Not really that there are bad songs but none really stand out, except for That's Really Super, Supergirl and Season Cycle. Would have been improved if the Dear God song was appended at the end.
There are some songs like Mother Nature's Son and Good Night that are a bit boring but since the album is so long and so filled with killer it doesn't matter that much anyway.
