This album a lot of the time is sorta talked about by fans, myself included at the time, in the shadows of other albums under the CSH name like Twin Fantasy, How To Leave Town, since those albums are a lot more forward in why they are amazing. However, after many many more relistens and growing with it for the past 2-3 years, I'm happy now to report that this album is now among the greats for me.

This seems to be a sonic switch up for this artist, considering they did a bunch of folk music before, and to a degree I can def appreciate the general idea of trying something new. “WYWH” is the swan song mourning the incredibly unfortunate passing of Syd Barrett that Syd truly deserved. The production across this whole thing is fucking spellbinding. Across the whole 45 minute journey, everything just sounds fucking immaculate. “Vespertine” was a transcendental experience. The production across this whole thing was heavenly and dreamy as hell. It really just takes you to another planet at points, but in a really gentle and surprisingly comforting way.
