I was a bit skeptical going into it, as "Bang!", "Way Less Sad", and "My Play" were all good to great singles, but they were all really different from each other, making me wonder what exact style this album would be, also "Bummerland" could go fuck itself, its just a downright terrible single. But yeah, going into this skeptically, I was NOT at all disappointed with it. I really liked a lot of the tracks on here, as the production is very orchestral (hahaha), songs like "3 O'Clock Things" and "Ordinaryish People" (and "Way Less Sad") are BANGERS, meanwhile the writing on this album has improved a lot from "Neotheater" for example, the tracks "Humpty Dumpty" and "The Trick" are some of AJRs best written songs ever (as well as "My Play"). Also, the ending song on this album "Christmas In June" is now my favorite AJR closer now, and honestly one of my favorite AJR songs oat! There are some dull spots, "Bummerland" is still just as bad as I remember, meanwhile "Joe" has honestly one of the worst instrumentals and production of any AJR song ever, like seriously, "Joe" sounds like a freaking demo or something. But other than those 2 songs, this album was great, absolutely loved it.
