Huh, I was not expecting to enjoy this one as much as I did, considering how much I absolutely despised “Fashionably Late”. This album basically surgically removes everything I hated about that album, from the crappy rapping to the insipid electronics and dubstep, and replaces it all with a MUCH more tolerable metalcore aesthetic. While yeah, it is kinda plain in the grander scheme of things here and there, but with that aside, this is a much more enjoyable experience. Ronnie’s vocals are also SO MUCH more tolerable on here, mostly cause of the nonexistence of the rapping on here, but also cause he actually tries to sing pretty decently, and the times he does go for a more Screamo type style, while still not my thing, actually fits with the songs they’re in and add something to them. But yeah, I actually kinda fucked with this a bit, and maybe if Ronnie and company ever decide to come back with another album (I’ve heard most of the newer singles haven’t been that bad) they can actually step up and make something really special. For now tho, not that bad!
