The final one of the big 3 metal albums I listened to, and coincidentally the oldest of the 3, Iron Maidens "The Number of the Beast", is some damn solid heavy metal. Sure, it may have aged quite a bit since its 1982 release, and it is packed to the brim with some of the more stereotypical stuff that most people group metal in general with, but damn if this doesn't have some banger tracks! Songs like "Children of the Damned" and "The Number of the Beast" are just packed to the brim with some damn great riffs and performances that it just gets my head banging all over the place! Tracklist overall is just packed super damn tightly with some damn great metal tracks, especially given the time this was released. Not entirely perfect tho, some songs don't entirely reach perfection like others, and I will note that "Gangland" was pretty mediocre given the other songs on here and should've just been left off the album tbh. But other than that, damn great metal album, can see why people saw this as something special back then!
Best Tracks: all except...
Worst Track: Gangland
