ugh, i just... i think i need to give up on weezer. i didn’t listen to the spring ep because i just knew i wouldn’t like it. right now it seems people are liking this new installment, so i checked it out despite the forewarning of the title “cuomoville.” this band actually sucks guys what is it we’re getting out of their music?

i mean starting off with positives, i kind of like “what’s the good of being good,” and “blue like jazz” has ... read more

i think people who have been listening to the live version for months now (which i have been obsessively doing so) might be disappointed by this being a completely different version, but i hope not. i knew not to expect to hear the live version going into this single, and am very glad they changed it up quite a bit. still live the live version too, but yeah this is gonna fit the album much better. but anyone who's seen them live knows cameron goes aggressive on slow live, but on the studio ... read more

Joyce Manor is criminally underappreciated. It honestly has taken me several listens to get what the appeal of this album and its short songs are, but I think I'm starting to get it. i have always had perfect expectations for this band, yet somehow they still surpass them and blow me away unexpectedly every time. i didn't realize this was what we were in for. this is genuinely a masterpiece. it's actually perfectly crafted. i cannot stop gushing about this album. i can't stop thinking about how much i want to listen to it all the time. i cannot stop quoting lines like "billie eilish style," "this is the best thing in like ever," "show me the place ... read more

might just seem like another indie rock record to a lot of people, but for people familiar with the wrens, this thing is pretty stunning. it's like kevin didn't miss a beat, in fact some of this material tops some of the stuff of the meadowlands. so glad it turned out good. honestly, if this album released soon after the meadowlands, back when this style was still a big deal, it would probably be hailed as a classic similarly to the meadowlands.
