Well that was all over the place, and in a good way.

I hadn't realised until reading about this after listening that he'd literally sampled different bits of songs, moved them around a bit, basically curated them almost and presented to us an art piece.

That seems supremely talented to me. Maybe I am not seasoned enough but this is my first experience of sampling and I really liked it, totally different.
