Pop-culturally I find this album very frustrating. Through little fault of the music itself, I feel that the mass appeal and popularity of this album in the aftermath of the Drake beef really did some unavoidable damage to Kendrick's reputation. Genius in every sense of the word. I know it's everybody's fun fact about this album, but the way the narrative shifts depending on the order you listen to it still blows me away. Hot take, this album is better than GKMC to me. I don't trust people who hate on Loyalty and God.

I mean duh, better than GKMC every day of the week in my eyes. Thundercat does not get nearly enough credit for his contributions here.

Drake's usual flow and delivery sounds more beat down and tired than ever, only works on a couple tracks here. Overall, the beats were the saving grace of this project, but were still unable to pull Drake's lyrics and performance from mediocre at best and embarrassing at worst.
Favorite: Firm Friends (Conductor Williams pulling heavy weight here)
Least Favorite: Little Birdie
