this is the only Jaydes rock project I’ve liked because the vocal performances don’t sound bad here, and the mixing is fine.

I’ve listened to this three times now and man I honestly just can’t like this. The weird mixing, the odd vocal delivery and the lyricism, idk man nothing is hitting for me here. It is better than count up dracula but that’s not really that good of statement either. Last song was cool, but I do think the vocal mixing was pretty.. odd. I get that the whole mixing thing is intentional to create this whole vibe and atmosphere but honestly I think a lot of these songs would be ... read more

a slight portion of this album is pretty repetitive, boring and just underwhelming at points, but other than that, when the album dives deep into its experimentation, versatility and depth, it works. Although not as great as his previous album (even if this album works as a continuation), this still has some interesting ideas and great bops on it.

The one thing about jazz that has always turned me off is that when you’re not so much into it, most jazz can sound samey and start melting into eachother creating no way for you to notice the distinction between jazz artists. But as I listen to jazz more and more, I can finally hear the different sounds and ideas that certain artist have. And with that, there’s 3 jazz albums that really stand out to me. “Kind of Blue” by Miles Davis, “Karma” by Pharoah ... read more

"As someone who adores this album, I can see why people can think it’s lacking and empty. To me, I like this album because of my own personal memories attached to it. I come back to this a lot to chill out and be calm almost like a “safe place” and I think that’s why most people like this album too. Still, I see why you’d view this album differently. Great review tho!!"
