While I do think the hate for this album is a bit much, this is still a less than desirable listen. Heaven's Gate and Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea are great tracks (even if the vocals on the latter threw me at first), but a great deal of the work here either goes in one ear and out the other, or is obtusely grating. Young & Menace is possibly the weakest song on any Fall Out Boy project; the pitching is all over the place and feels like whiplash after a wooden rollercoaster ride. It's a hodgepodge of sounds that clashes so hard; autotuned white noise. A few other songs have that overblown arena rock feel with high-pitched one-note vocal passages, but that track is far and away the wackiest offender. Not great, not terrible, I think it's worth a listen to appreciate the clear highlights this has to offer.
