Pinned Review

 - Blonde
100
Frank Ocean's genre defying masterpiece finds beauty in simplicity; creating an atmosphere that is unlike anything else in the history of music. From front to back this album is extremely encapsulating and intriguing, the more you listen the more you decipher. From the cryptic metaphors about youth to the stripped down instrumentals, "Blonde" is musical perfection in every way; a sprawling project that will stand in a league of it's own for as long as I am alive.

 - The King of Limbs

Though it has a sluggish and uninteresting start, "The King of Limbs" picks up in the second half and shows us some of Radiohead's best material. Songs like "Codex", and "Give Up The Ghost" are slow burning gems that belong up with Radiohead's best songs. If only the whole album was like that.
 - The Bends

Most people talk about how crazy the jump between this record and Ok Computer is, but I would argue the jump from their lackluster first LP "Pablo Honey" to this near masterpiece is more significant. The complexity of this record is complex in of itself because it sounds very accessible. But as further listens reveal, this album clicks with listeners just like most Radiohead music. "The Bends" is a severely underrated rock epic that set Radiohead up for their future ... read more
 - Making A Door Less Open

Will Toledo continues his near perfect run with another ambitious project that doesn't play by the rules. This album takes a more electronic / pop direction, moving away from the indie of his past albums. While it may not stack up with the best of his indie records, "Making A Door Less Open" is a respectable new direction from a band that thrived inside it's comfort zone for so many years.
 - Twin Fantasy (Face to Face)

The remake of Will Toledo's 2011 "Twin Fantasy" hits all the right spots and succeeds where the original falls short. With cynical lyrics and emotional chord changes, this album is an absolute Indie Rock spectacle that is beautifully complex in it's arrangements and hard to pin down in the best way possible.
 - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix

Phoenix hits the mark with "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix", a fun album full of indie pop bangers that are irresistibly catchy. From the toy keys in "Lisztomania" to the build up in "Girlfriend", this album has all you can ask from an indie pop record, while having great replay value as well.
