"Demon Days" is the moment after the debut that truly showed the heights that Gorillaz was capable of. With some honestly incredible production and some goated features from people like De La Soul and MF DOOM of all people, "Demon Days" is just hit after hit after hit! Also, the writing has improved drastically as well, with this being a more concept focused album about a post-apocalyptic world and the people in it, which really shines in songs like "Last Living Souls" and "Fire Coming Out of the Monkey's Head". On the bangers side of things, this bitch is fuckin STACKED!!! With slappers like "Dirty Harry", "Feel Good Inc." and "DARE", the album just stays fun to listen to throughout its runtime, despite its heavy undertones. Only thing I think that keeps it back is that some songs don't quite hit as hard as others, and I generally think that other albums have done this aesthetic better before and since this album released. But man, overall "Demon Days" is definitely a benchmark in Gorillaz catalog!
