Fantasy

M83 is one of my favorite artists of all time. Their 2000s to early 2010s output is one of my favorite album runs of all time, those big 3 albums specifically were part of a huge electronic phase I had growing up. And after their… slight blunder back in 2019, I was praying and practically BEGGING they finally come through with something that showed me again why I love this name. And yeah… this did it for me :D.

“Fantasy” sees the group going back to their 2010s roots, going for a more cinematic pop sound. While I wouldn’t necessarily say that this is just as amazing as that era of M83, I still feel like a lot of moments on here are hella close to the glory days! I adored tracks like “Amnesia” and “Sunny Boy” so damn much, and just felt like Anthony and the crew finally putting their full heart and chest into this album. And finally giving something worthwhile again after so long! Sure, I think this album suffers a little bit by a few meh songs and some slight sameish sounding songs here and there, but I really don’t care, I loved this album a lot! Im happy to see my boy back in the game.
