I feel that his melody magic is still alive and well. Songs like come inside, life can be hard and ripples in a pond show it quite well. Altough some of the tracks sounds the same which is I think comes down to his drumming. Down south is easily the weakest track but if this is his last album, its a good way to go out. For the effort I give it 80

Some slower songs, so Obviously people will hate it more, thats unfair. Whats not unfair is that they literally ruined lots of songs. They were better a few months ago.
I have a feeling ye is in this club mindset and will look at these 3 albums as a non serious side project cuz i cannot believe one can lose the plot like this.

Is this perfect? No. As a first, debut album? It is literal perfection. I might lower the score once they have more albums out.
One of the best debuts ever. The sound is so complete already. You know exactly from the voice, but the music too, that is is the strokes
Their first try at a concept type album, and the sound of the album is so complete and a whole package really. I cant decide, right now ill say their best album, the songs really like sound like an album, not just songs they wrote.
This is the modern smiths. This is something that has the magic of the Smiths but its still doing its own thing. This is the best stuff ive heard in a long time and im so looking forward to it.
The singer manages to sound like Morrissey, Elvis, and Robert Smith too.
