So there I was, just browsing the internet like the good little boy I was, when I somehow stumbled on this one video depicting some pretty violent action with this ammature film crew following a couple of murderers as they go around killing people. When it was over, I got off the deep web and watched this short movie. And I mean for a pretty hard knock off for 'Man Bites Dog', it's pretty good. Note, this will be a video review, sorry.
I mean the concept of a mockumentary with a dark twist ... read more
Dissatisfied with the original review and score, so here I am. It takes a big man to admit that they love something way more than they let on, and it's truly the same case for MOTM. It feels as though people who say that this is outdated, or that MOTM II is better due to the darker content and mildly the more refined production are truly missing the point of this album.
MOTM has some of Cudi's most clever track placements to date, where even the lesser interesting songs in this album have a ... read more
You know you're late to the party when you excitedly listen to a god awful Logic project that feels like it's 5 hours long just so you can take your turn kicking the musical equivalent of a punching bag in the balls until you actually get there and realize nobody's gonna read your review or participate in your mockery because everyone has moved on by doing the exact same thing to the new KSI album. Yep.
It's even sadder that I don't know what else to add to this conversation about this ... read more
Ok, ok, I'm going to be as concise as possible. I don't think this is the worst album ever made, nor do I think my score reflects a largely objective truth about the album. It's just not for me. I knew I wasn't gonna like it ever since I first heard Bad Guy, so take that as you will. That being said, I fucking hate this album. I genuinely cannot stand this album and hate almost every aspect about it.
Enough beating around the bush, what's so bad about this competently made, high budget studio ... read more
Not gonna lie, this is pretty good. After listening to the debut once more and this EP thrice, I can safely say that this is an improvement in almost every aspect, although it still does lack in a few key areas.
Some great things that carry over from the debut is namely and most importantly, the production is still really good. I do love how you branched out here a little bit instead of using the samey sounding instrumentals, a massive improvement over the debut. I really fuck with The ... read more
I have to be honest with you here, this barely escapes mediocrity for me. And I don't mean that to put you down or anything because like most of the artists on this platform, you do exhibit a great deal of potential from what I'm hearing.
The instrumentals are honestly well utilized here and honestly sound really great at times(the opening to Apocalypse Now comes in mind as it has a great opener), and honestly kinda dig the vibe you're going for on this LP. All of the songs have a nice build ... read more
Okay yeah, it's actually pretty good. Cherry Bomb was easily my most hated project from Tyler, The Creator, and possibly ever, for a long time. I hated almost everything about it, from the abrasive, annoyingly attention whoring beats, the vocals being drowned out on a lot of occasions by the god awful audio mixing and really how much of a black sheep it was in Tyler's discography. And you know what? That's kinda what I like about it now.
The production is largely the thing that grew on me the ... read more
Yeah, no I'm good, I'd much rather use them 2 AND A HALF HOURS to watch Blade Runner 2049 or something. I just realized this is actually my 69th review.
Nice.
Thank god, this was great. Can't believe how wrong I was, I thought this album was cool but boring. My excitement levels essentially dropped after Goblin and after listening to Wolf, I can gladly say that I thoroughly enjoyed my four listens and re-listens.
And I think the most notable improvements across the entire album are made blatantly clear with the opening title track, (which to me feels like his most obvious hint that Flower Boy was gonna happen) that not only is the production ... read more
Before you ask, yes. I can't fucking stand this album. It's literally everything I DIDN'T want Bastard to sound and be like. This is just as bad as SB2H for me, I don't even know where to start with this annoying, messy, bloated shit.
Uhh as for positives, there really aren't that many. Well for one, the thing I think this album actually builds on from the last album is just the thread between songs with the therapy sessions that Tyler goes through, and are actually kind of improved here. I ... read more
+1 For the Kanye joke actually making me laugh
+2 For being recognized by my ears as indeed music
+2 For technically the rapping part with Lil Dicky being the best vocal part of the song, and honestly not terrible
+1 For not featuring Chris Brown, Hitler, Kim Jong Un, Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, Charles Manson and Pitbull
-96 For literally every other aspect of the song
I cannot believe how right I was on my first impressions of this album. This album is extremely immature and made to offend people akin to a musical twitter troll, but at the same it's such a creative and interesting look into the character Tyler portrays himself as. This album is so damn straight forward and self aware about what it is, that all you need to do is listen to the title track to understand whether or not you'll like this album. And I liked it. Quite a bit actually.
I think what I ... read more
Okay for some context, I found out a while back some, people on this site actually make, which to me was bonkers so I just said, 'Hey! I'll check em out' (not the albums, the artists) and I find a convenient list made for it by a guy that made music, STREAM HILLS AND VALLEYS, and I stumbled across this album because the cover art looked funny to me, and started following the guy checking some of the stuff(really an 87 for Music to be Murdered By? jk lmao), and just today he asked me to review ... read more
Fuck it, I like this album. Can't believe I have to start the review like this on a user score average of 82, but there seems to be a hell of a lot of people who just hammer this album, and call it overrated. Which is fair, I can't control people's opinions and I'm not asking to but THIS album? DAMN. is the fifth studio album from Kendrick, the rap god, Lamar and returns to Section .80 like concept. Or so people tell me.
Whatever, let's start with what I like with, notably the production. The ... read more
I don't know, I kinda like it. I initially thought it was a pathetic attempt at gaining clout by making a half-assed song that was just this guy talking into a mic. While I don't think he was quite the SIMP BETA INCEL CUCKLORD!!!! a lot of people were making him out to be in the song, it does give me a pretty creepy vibe to be honest, but as soon as I put that shit beside me, I found a somewhat charming, personality filled love letter to a girl Hobo couldn't be with. Overtime, I feel as though ... read more
Yes this sounds completely bad, yes I could barely sit through it but the man literally made this shit in his car and it fairness it completely sounds like it. But honestly, there are some highlights on specific tracks here that give you glimpses into how Frank managed to evolve as an artist. While I can't say it's good or even something I will EVER come back to but it's interesting. The most pitiful 4/10 I'll give out in a while.
As a timeline of how my thoughts went is exactly like this:
08.19.2014- Ehhhhh
06.23.2014 through 09.06.2014- This is great!
Fav: 06.23.2014
It's good.

The age old question I have never asked myself, does TPAB have B-Sides I can listen to? And there is, to my surprise. And uhhh... For a bunch of B-sides made for TPAB I mean not only are they good for B-Sides but they're pretty good on their own. I don't ... read more
I mean isss gud, isss real gud but I mean if this was maybe more balanced on the Cudi side of things, I think this could be a really solid pairing. This feels more like Travis Scott song featuring Kid Cudi than an actual equal collaboration, and yes if you're wondering, I think Fantano is absolutely correct on that note. A little disappointing as Cudi fan. As for the song itself, it's not anything all that special really, it's just an enjoyable track and nothing more.
Edit: I'm sorry to do ... read more
Like most normies, my initial exposure to this song was in the Black Ops 3 trailer, shit trailer by the way. The song is really banging with great instrumentals, amazing vocal performances from the lead singer and the back up singers and great pacing. The song knows when to build hype and when to pull it back, creating a great constant sense of fun. Not exactly a fan of the lyrics, though. Just too dumb and vague for my tastes and I doubt that there's any real significance to them, unless I'm ... read more
