Jethro Tull's crowning album
It really doesn't get better than this. What's ironic is that this was meant to be a parody of prog concept albums, and it turned out to be one of the best concept prog albums of all time. 45 minutes of delectable folk rock
I hate to be the partypooper but this is absolute cringe. FNAF is still TLT's most listened song and is worthy of praise, but another reimagining of it with over-the-top arrangements visibly makes me cringe
Brat was shitty before and featuring Julian Casablancas didn't magically change that
My boy Julian takes FIOE an decides to crank it up not to 11 but 110
Away with accessibility and pop sounds, this is a dive into the deep end of noise rock, infused with classic Casablancese lyrics and eastern vibes. Insanely quotable, electronically detached but emotionally intact, and captivating from start to end. A fascinating experiment which took huge risks and paid off much more. As much as I appreciate Virtue and to a lesser extent LABY, Tyranny is the sound I'd like to hear more ... read more
I love Muse, but this is rather unexpected and unremarkable. As others have said, it's just Explorers + Shine, but accomplishing neither as well as the original. Lyrics have never been Matt's strong suit (hint hint, go back to writing like you did on OOS, it worked to your strengths) and this track doesn't change that. Not offended, but also have no inclination to go back to listening to it
My favorite off the album. Lovestruck, wholesome, and very pretty. When Coldplay isn't pushing out poptimistic pop, this is what I want to hear
Very safe, pleasant, unambitious music. It doesn't reach for the popistic heights of MotS but doesn't reach the artistry of Viva la Vida, so it just hangs out in this limbo state of not really accomplishing either very well. If this came was playing in the background at Target I wouldn't offended, but I also would never willingly play this in my car
Favorite track(s): All My Love, Moon Music
Worst track(s): Aeterna? I dunno everything else just blends together
When Will the Slander of This Album End?
I'm really disappointed by the reviews of this album. To me, it seems that 60% of people wrote their albums as a knee-jerk reaction to this album and the other 40% are complaining about the album art. The latter group really has no merit beyond philosophical circlejerkery, whereas the the former should really let this album simmer before coming to conclusions
I was in this group also. When I first listened to the album, I was grated by Square ... read more
Thoroughly underrated, and by far my favorite Strokes album
I didn't understand this album at first, coming from albums like Is This It. It took me over a year to come back to this album for everything to click - this is The Strokes at it's loosest and most comfortable, making good tunes without bombast or pretense, like a band with talent and no fame. It is excellently paced and bite-sized to enjoy on a short walk in the cool of a Summer evening
Please give it another ... read more

WISH I WAS THEEEEEEREEEEE WITH YOU
Just when you think you were born too late to experience great music being released in your lifetime, Julian comes in, drops his magnum opus late into his career, and refuses to elaborate
