Singable chorus, that's all this song has going for it. Oh and the groove is kinda nice
Is it weird I kinda like it? The chorus saves this song, I love singing alone to it.
Was good at the time, didn't age very well. I still sing along every now and then
Spoiler alert, probably my least favourite EP of theirs so far. Unlike their debut EP and Creation later down the line, I actually don't find the interludes worth sticking around for. As for the actual track listing, I really like half of the tracks and the other half I found rather forgettable.
A Loser Doesn't Need an Encore (the title track), has a hooky enough chorus, but I feel it doesn't compliment the verses that well sonically and musically. I do feel like it the break down takes away ... read more
How to kick off your discography with a massive bang, even the interludes are worth listening.
Cattleya punches you in the face with its bold sound, killer bass groove and catchy chorus.
Say It sounds really pleasant with its infectious guitar line... until you dive into the lyrics which will break your heart.
Blooming in the Summer is just a massive bop with the playful melody and hooks for days!
Flight is a sweet interlude and a nice wind down from the high energy first half to lead us into ... read more
Billy Joel coming back strong. I don't know if we'll get an album from this single, but he still hasn't lost his touch. The piano sounds gorgeous as always and the strings add a really nice touch. Edit: 85 -> 80
2024 starting off strong with a well composed and well mixed pop rock banger. n-buna's guitar sounds so tasty and suis' vocals soar high. Bass line is groovy as hell and the drums add a nice punch.
Edit: 88 -> 83
88 seems a bit too generous. Still a great song!
Edit: Decided to alter my track ratings as I feel like I should be more generous
This album changed my life. It has some of the most soul crushing music I've ever heard and it's gotten me through some tough times ever since it came out. I've smiled, I've cried and I've wondered in awe of this album. Words cannot convey how much this means to me. To me, there are no weak spots, there are only spots where it doesn't hit me as hard, namely in the middle. I definitely find myself skipping over ... read more
I generally dislike most Yoasobi songs, but this is one of the exceptions. Didn't like it at first, but it grew on me and I end up loving it
