Scorpion is an album of contrasts. On the first half of the album, you get banger after banger, with some really good rapping, and triumphant production, with relatively few misses, aside from maybe Im upset. However, on the second half of the album, the songs just get so boring, with some real snoozers here. There are few good tracks, such as Jaded, but for the most part, this album is way too long, not that interesting, and really middle of the road.
Drake's views does one thing very well- sets a scene. It is a modern classic at this point in Toronto, and globally too. Not all classics are that good though, and this one is decent, for the most part there are more hits than misses. There are a few tracks where he goes in a more dancehall direction, which I dont think works very well. The R&B tracks do pretty well though, such as on the song Redemption. The rapping is good too, such as on 9, even though there are some dodgy bars ... read more
The main event from the 3 albums released by Drake, and I think the best. The album is cold, as the title suggests, but the songs are more hits than misses, the lyrics get as ridiculous as usual, but the beats are pretty good. Or they are sometimes, unless there is a beat switch, which happens far too many times on this album. I also think the storytelling drake gimmick is getting a bit old at this point, but there is some hard moments here too, even though it does sound like he has too much ... read more
The dance-hall oriented of the three releases, and it is also the worst. The singing is not very good at all, the features for the most part are very annoying, and there is only 2 or 3 songs that I would listen to again. The production is pretty awful, and any song where the first 20 seconds sound good, like the final song, Princess, get turned into complete garbage with the crappy autotuned vocals. Easily one of the worst drake Albums to date.
