Some of y'all really, really need to take the stick out of your ass
edit: real score 75
72 Seasons is nothing but crunching, heavy riffs for its entire duration, with no ballads or clean guitars in sight (barring the final track). Many tracks share a similar tempo and vibe, with riffs that often feel derivative of their past works, resulting in a blend of their 90s records mixed with their more thrashier and heavier stuff. The album feels like a greatest-hits record if all the songs were remixed with the Hardwired guitar tone, with the worst it has to offer being couple songs on ... read more
Grungey, raw, and chuck full of bangers. One of Nickelback's best. No bad songs. Overhated.
The anger and unpleasant production are what make this an interesting listen, with Purify being one of the songs that best demonstrates these qualities. I don't mind the snare or guitar tone either, but James' singing is painful at points (especially on the title track). This album's biggest sin is how long and bloated these songs are. Shave a few minutes off a lot of these tracks and you have a pretty decent, angry metal record. As it stands though, it's not good... But there's nothing else ... read more
Load has higher highs, but Reload is consistent all the way through. There are more tracks with attitude and all of them are bangers. A lot of them are growers too, but no one listens to albums like these more than once unfortunately. It's an excellent hard rock/metal album that's overlooked, overhated, and underated. Like with Load, give it a chance.

A fantastic hard rock/metal album that only gets hated on because it's by Metallica. I genuinely believe every song here is good and the production is excellent. Give it a chance.
Best tracks: Ain't My Bitch, The House That Jack Built, Until It Sleeps, Hero of the Day, Bleeding Me, Mama Said, The Outlaw Torn
Not bad at all. It's one of the most Nickelback albums ever, so it's all pretty standard and safe. Because of this it was disappointing on first listen, but after multiple listens (which no one here has done), it's honestly hard to hate. All the songs are still really catchy even if the subject matter/lyrics leave a lot to be desired. Just don't go into this expecting Nickelback to evolve their sound.

One of Em's most interesting albums artistically. Rick Rubin's production is often criticized, but I think it works very well for the nostalgic themes this album touches upon. However, the tracklist is disappointing, as some of the best songs to come from this project were regulated to the bonus disc, like the incredible Groundhog Day. That along with So Far and Evil Twin are some of Eminem's greatest songs ever made. Not every song hits (Stronger Than I Was, Asshole), but all-in-all this is a ... read more
This is the type of album nobody wants to give the time day, because... Well, it's Nickelback. Regardless, the first half of this album is legitimately good. Breathe, Cowboy Hat, Leader of Men, and Worthy to Say are all great songs. The rest of the tracks are decent. An underrated album, and the band's best work to date.
Em's obsession with fast rapping and terrible wordplay/punchlines are all over the album and it just feels like a random collection of songs, which makes the underutilized Alfred Hitchcock theme that much more disappointing. There's also a good amount of weak/filler tracks too, like In Too Deep (corny), Those Kinda Nights (again), Stepdad (decent storytelling, lame hook), Marsh (just odd), and Little Engine (again). Godzilla has a great energy to it and Juice WRLD lays a solid hook, but I end ... read more
