21 Savage, Metro Boomin & Offset - Without Warning

I’m not a huge fan of trap, but I relistened to this today, and I loved it way more than I did last year. I think it is a great album! The trap sound is really growing on me, and I’m glad it is, I’ve been blocking off lots of great music because I didn’t understand trap. 21 Savage, Offset, and Metro Boomin all work together really well here. I still have to listen to lots of trap albums, but this is one of the best trap albums I’ve heard. I really like the vibe of this album as well, it just feels great. I don’t really talk about album covers in my reviews, I don’t know why, but that cover on this album is just cool and mesmerizing for some odd reason, I love it. Now, let’s get into the music that I USED to dislike, the trap sound and music.

This album had an eerie and spooky vibe, with the cover and release on Halloween. Yet the entire sound is soothing and melodic, just relaxing yourself while you listen. This whole album is just very vibey and I love the sound of that. The auto tune used by all the rappers on here isn’t bad, surprisingly! It actually sounds really good here. Not like Travis Scott or T-Pain level of auto tune though, but it works well enough. The production from Metro Boomin is amazing honestly, he knows how the fuck to produce! He is one of the best modern hiphop producers for sure, always putting out fire. The rapping and lyricism from 21 Savage and Offset is good, just good. I didn’t expect much from them in this category, but they do a good job here. The flows and cadence are great, super powerful! I expected them to deliver with this, and they definitely did. Their flows are mesmerizing and catchy, just able to stick in your mind all day, love that! Overall, this is a great album, a modern classic. This is definitely an essential trap album, it delivers greatly with the sound and style of the genre. I totally recommend this for anyone trying to get into trap, go check this out sometime! You won’t regret it!
