The most positive aspects of Sheeran's debut are alright at best. His consistency is jumbled, but his best snippets will catch any passing ear. Nothing wrong with a record that's just okay, but his painfully stretched out syllables and hastily crammed lyricism dilutes any sort of poppy or stoic (somewhat lifeless) rhythm he has going in the moment. He tries to differentiate himself with occasional hip-hop flavors and "because I said so" arguements, but he ends up coming across like a modernized Jason Mraz.
"I'm like glue, I stick to other artists."
Ouch, talk about a freudian slip.
