"HOMECOMING" is Beyoncé flexing and showing us how big her career, her hits, her fan base, and her raw talent are.
"I said I want something big, I want something that says I'm here: Beyoncé"
"EVERYTHING IS LOVE" is a good album that sometimes has really low moments, but over all for this being their first joined album, it's wonderful!
"The Lion King: The Gift" is more of a compilation of songs instead of an album or a soundtrack. The songs are good by themselves, but in between all the "interludes" -that only serve the next song in the album - they just get muddy and feel watered down.
Wouldn't feel right to give it a higher score but also couldn't bring myself to give it a worse score, bc the songs are good...
Also, part of me thinks that this is kind of an "ACT .5" bc I can see ... read more
"COWBOY CARTER" is a country experience, from the interludes to the experimentation in the country genre! Every song feels perfectly crafted and placed in this track list! And while at times it felt too long of an album, I can't judge the art and defensiveness that this represents! GIVE US THE VISUALS!!!
"RENAISSANCE" is the such an amazing house/pop album! Like, is there a genre that this woman can't tap into?!?! let's talk about the samples and the way she surrounded herself with so much queer and POC people that the samples and lyrics fit so well with the house/ballroom music that bey is taping into! That "please, motherfuckers ain't stopping me" which opens the album and correlates so much to the time when the album was released to then the sample of T.S ... read more
"Lemonade" is Beyoncé's best album! I can't say enough good things about this album! Just pure perfection!
First the story-line, she was so vulnerable to share this album with the world bc it essentially feels like a letter to Jay-z (which honestly can't think of a reason why he cheated on her), she shares from her first thoughts of doubt and of suspicion of her husband in "Pray You Catch Me" to her anger In both "Hold Up" and ... read more
"BEYONCÉ" is a game changer of an album not only for Beyoncé but for the music industry, I mean she changed the day when artist release music! It feels like she is truly mastering the art of making an album, from staying consistent with the production and sound to telling a story from start to finish with her lyrics!
The sound is consistent on this work of art, moving from R&B to electropop/trap like it's nothing, and not only from track to track, but also ... read more
"I AM...SASHA FIERCE" is Beyoncé's most inconsistent album, yeah the hits are amazing, but the tracks that aren't singles are just a mess, like "ave maria" is just a big no.... The first half being mostly ballads and the second half being full dance-pop bangers sounds good in practice, but this just makes me feel like the first half should have more power or better production, bc it ends up being steamrolled by the second part...
B'day finds Beyoncé more comfortable in her music direction and power, which gives us some smash HITS!!! Which I mostly think is bc she saw the success of crazy in love and said "wait, let me do more of this", the instrumentals are so crazy good that I'm so jealous of the people that got to attend this album's tour and hear all of this live!!
Also, I find it funny how this period time Beyoncé just uses "interludes" to say whatever bc in her ... read more
Dangerously in love feels a little dated like I bet the people in 2003 were losing it over this album, but I don't know this album is full of ballads that most of the time I didn't know when one ended and the other started, can't judge it too hard bc it's her solo debut, but I expected something much bigger bc of the hits that are "crazy in love" and "baby boy"...also I would like to know Beyoncé's opinion on the closing track ... read more
Magic still exists is an amazing dose of synth/dance pop! "24 hours", "Here comes the night" and "Love and appreciation" are honestly pop bible worthy! Would get a higher rating if 4 out of the 11 tracks weren't interludes, but that just shows how good are the longer tracks! Also, can't decide if I love or hate this album cover...
Girl with no face is the perfect dose of synth-pop with a dark/goth twist, put it on the must-hear category, cowards!
In the meantime feels like a step in the right direction in Alessia's career, but I feel like this album didn't need to be 18 tracks long! It honestly could have ended after sweet dreams…
Growing pains feels like another coming of age album from Alessia, while a little messy at times.
Know-it-all does an excellent job at being a coming of age album! (I may be a little biased because of nostalgia)
People are just being extra critical! This is some wonderful dance pop, and honestly extra points for not being full of samples and interpolations!
