Its okay. It's unfortunate that Baker took this route though, essentially being assimilated into the generic folk pop spectrum that she so nobly avoided for her two previous - and far superior albums. Bakers contributions to boygenius were her solemnness and her powerful individuality. With this direction she makes herself stand out less next to her band members on her own album.

Its better than that emo album but its a pretty tepid affair overall. It meanders and limps around with hardly any reason for its existence. Still, there's no denying the cohesiveness of directionless band.

Easily one of the more accessible records from the Telescopes, but still full of drone, fuzz, and burnt ambient noise rock.

I like it less with each listen unfortunately. There's some cheese lyrics, and a lot of Willy Wonka-in-the-tunnel moment are kinda cringe. Definitely prefer black midi over these guys but maybe it'll grow more.

I dunno, it is way more up my alley than anything else she's done. I dig the chill vibes and more organic instrumentation.

Sonic Youth to me is one of, if not the, greatest American bands of all time. Its hard to pinpoint exactly what it is that I love so much. Maybe its the flawed but still perfect combination of pop ...
