So what about the music? It's pretty subpar, but its better than I thought it would be. The production choices are passable, at the very least, and for some reason they hit really hard for the most part. I didn't expect the production on here to be any good but I've been startled here!
For what he is, KSI is a decent rapper. I'm not too into his style of youtube videos or anything so I'm not too aware of him but I can see exactly why someone would like him as a youtuber and a rapper, and too see a youtuber make songs with Rick Ross, etc, is pretty cool :)
Lyrically, he's very mediocre but he isn't awful, but at the same time he never puts anything distinctive on the table. However he gets slightly introspective on the final half of this record, especially that one song where he talked about the demise of his relationship with his brother. Outside that brief flash of skill, he tells no stories.
The flows aren't bad at all, it seems like he worked on that, but as a whole, he isn't the best by a LONG distance, but I can cut him some slack..
While KSI's final product is rough around the edge and his use of autotune is horrendous, it sounds like chart music and that's not a bad thing. KSI has potential, this isn't it, but it isn't as horrendous as some of these reviews suggest. Houdini is a really solid song :)
