Edit: 30 listens later I disagree with myself, this is amazing. Probably one of their best singles to date, the production is really fresh, the lyrics are alright, and the vocals sound even better than Sarah did with their old endeavors. Also they look like some sort of jazz outfit on their new group photo, they look killer though lmao. Also I'm still a bit weirded out that Jamie doesn't have production credits on any of their Civilisation stuff yet he's on Bugsnax. Whatever.

One thing I gotta ... read more

The impossible has happened, my favorite robotic couple has split up indefinitely.

Warning: This review is definitely not too musically deep or anything, but it's a humble attempt at capturing the emotion behind their split-up. Do feel free to criticize my points and analogies if you'd like to. It was my fight or flight response to the end of their iconic brand of music to make a review, not garner clout from this moment of despair.

Minimalist club penchants for the soul. There's something ... read more

I need help immediately

I mean this new soixante-neuf track might be the most decent he's sounded since Gooba and Trollz. After the hilariously bad trainwreck that was TattleTales, it's good to see this loser back on his rage shit. Sure, it's derivative of all his content before 2019, but damn it's so good to have the original soxiante-neuf back, The one I missed, the dumbass who screams like DMX while talking about babies. See, I don't defend this dude's actions nor am I some sort of ... read more

This isn't Rock, this is "rock"

There's a lot fundamentally wrong with this album from when it was first placed on the drawing board. Trippie actually finds himself at home on certain soulful trap beats, hence, the ideal concept for him to follow was to work on his existing sound palette and broadening to something more widely acceptable. Sure, Trippie deserves all the credit for exploring outside the bubble of his brand of emo trap, however, being an idealistic artist doesn't assure ... read more

Remember when I said I was gonna make a song from Everywhere At The End Of Time or whatever that creepy ambient album was? I did it, but with a little twist, put me on r/madlads. Wait a minute for the Impostor shit.

Headphone use advised, also note there's like 50 samples in there. Including ones from some dude playing among us sound FX on piano. Sus

Awaken from my night of slumber -> Have my (redacted) vaccumed by an unidentified being -> Then I arrive in my Bentley Bentayga sports utility vehicle with much pomp, fanfare and panache -> My vehicle is also fitted with butterfly doors, which are ever so dangerous yet showstopping in nature that they could even be near suicidal, but who cares about risks when you live life on the edge -> I get in my zone, which I'd like to dub "my bag", and when I'm in this state of bliss ... read more

Slowthai continues to add to his lore and system of punk branded rap that emphasizes the power of standing out, but also gets into more introspection than unleashing his political side, and also focuses on brevity, ending up in a project that's definitely inferior to his previous produce on the production front, yet is still some of the finest rap music out there in this calendar year to date.

The amount of ecstasy and energy encompassed in the album's first half is above the latter, but the ... read more

Kendrick sat on the toilet to poop, but the poop never stopped coming out of his butt. He started flushing the toilet every two minutes to keep up. He endlessly attempted to pinch his asshole closed but that made his insides twitch. The poop accelerated slowly down Kendrick's plumbing system. He phoned 911. The paramedics called for doctors. The doctors call for specialists. The story trends on Twitter. He vehemently turns down talk show appearances. His septic tank failed. People formed a ... read more

The push you attain when you jump from one career in the mainstream to another is so immense, you can't deny it. Sometimes I find myself vehemently against the emergence of artists seemingly out of nowhere but actually, they've paid the big wigs money to get into an industry they clearly don't belong in. Of course, you could be brilliant in various fields like an odd Da Vinci, but having a tough as nails singing range doesn't warrant the artistry you require to be a credible artist. One of the ... read more

Musical Terrorism, a genre once completely reserved to be tagged onto a Stygian project has now found its way to Flamingo's musical lore and I'm entirely pleased with the byproduct as I would like to announce that I am forfeiting all my worldly possessions to the neckbeard European anime man Flamingo who I do call a friend but now he has caused the permanent deafening of my ears through the medium of musical terrorism. I'm also glad to announce that he has signed to the label Cats&Music.inc ... read more

+2 points the outro got me like N U T

This is the best band in the world? Y'all slandering 100 gecs big time.

Once again, it's a culmination of weird factors that enticed me towards listening and reviewing this record, and most importantly, it's the M83 font-face used on the album art, also credit goes out to them for giving credit to the original photograph used to make the cover, because even though the little text on the bottom triggers my OCD, it's a kind gesture to say the very ... read more

I cannot understand why you'd have a single woe with the masterpiece that has been fulfilled through the medium of Can't Stop Partying, the "haha funny dog album" joke was never funny, and I purchased this thing on vinyl for a reason. Can't Stop Partying is one of Weezer's many opuses on the timeless classic that Raditude has grown into, something spectacular for the day and age it was brought up in, and something that never fails to leave me with a positive taste in the mouth. It's ... read more

Lee Ji Un could blow up my city I'd never know - Rivers cum of Vampire Weekend fame

So are we still tolerating this sound, are we still gonna let the mainstream gobble up this dated ass EDM-pop sound due to their musical illiteracy? Because I see people amped up for this thing like it was the next big thing, and it's seemingly not impressive on any front. If you guys are familiar with a friend of mine, eliiscool6 (fka eliiscool5), he's been going through a tough time post this song's release. ... read more

To find, to find the exact words, to find the perfect words, to say less, but to say more, was ideal with this project, and 'til my energy and mind be felt, in a less aggressive way, but a more passive and genius way was ideal with this album, to show the versatility and to show the open- to open minds in itself was the goal of this album, and to acquire a large amount of passion, and love and appreciation for myself was the goal of this album; loyalty to myself was the goal of this album. So, ... read more

The magic of albumoftheyear.org is that we agree to disagree, and from my time on this site, I've finally learned to form an opinion of my own, so I guess I'll quit tail-ending trends from now on and listen to what my heart and mind wlll. And all guns point to this, because "Ok Human" remains the only record from the first month of this year to actually strike an emotional chord with me. Of course, I perceive many albums ranked higher than this as lesser in stature, however, this ... read more

Sometimes your enjoyment of music goes hand in hand with the fact that you gotta turn your brain off to it, and partake in how fun it really is instead of getting into the finer details of it. Yes, on paper, this Beach Bunny EP is your average indie-pop experience with some supposedly charismatic vocals attached to them. Of course, some of the writing is oddly captivating in the way they seem adorable but have a deeper meaning lying under them. This is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine as ... read more

Is "Don't Judge Me" the audio-visual epic it was touted to be? Certainly not, nor is it impeccable by Twigs standards, but her work ethic has been A1 as of late. Because Twigs is one of those mysterious enigmas that spends years in the backdrop only to come out with flying colors after a number of years, treating her loyal fanbase rather well with avant-garde pop that stretches beyond the existing template of neo-futurism prevalent in modern music. It's amazing to note how far she is ... read more

He hopsin a positive sphere of music

Sometimes, the magnitude of a song can be expressed in how much of an artistic departure it is for the said artist. Man, look at Hopsin.

A neglected hip-hop artist, and rightfully so, due to his corny and tryhard antics mixed with the fact that his music is nothing to write home about, and can get offensively bad at certain passages of time, like with the god-awful Happy Ending, a comedy rap song now infamous as one of the worst songs of all time. ... read more
