Homogenic fully materializes the more electronic side of Björk's music that her previous records were inducing, showcasing a really interesting addition to her sound.
It is also my favorite release of her entire discography so far. It sounds emotionally chaotic in a very unique and progressive way.
The first leg starts off the album with a pretty clean and pacific atmosphere, where everything feel harmonious, featuring beautiful tracks such as "Joga" or "Unravel".

Probably one of the best songs ever created. However I barely come back to it in favor of the live version included in the "98.12.28 Otokotachi no Wakare", that I could consider as my favorite song of all time.
It's incredible how with only one song this album still feel like a hell of an experience, with a lot of dreamlike passages and incredibly textured sounds.

A trip through the darkest corners of a damaged mind, a tired soul, wandering his raw thoughts, his sharpened words. One of the strangest experiences I've ever had with music. Doesn't matter how many times I listen to it, still sounds as intriguing and mysterious as the first time.
The greatness of this album lies on how unique the presented ideas are, how different they are between each other, and how well they're attached together.
At a first look you could dismiss it as a nonsense compilation of rare sounds, but then you start appreciating the really textured sonic palette and the curious atmosphere this ... read more

The first third of Discovery kicks in incredibly strong, filled with tracks that we could already consider classics, also some of the group's most popular ones.
However, the album as a whole doesn't live up to the great start, and doesn't take much time to start decreasing its quality.
It isn't something I like to revisit oftenly, at least in its entirety. Because a great majority of Discovery just feels like hit-or-miss filler tracks that doesn't go anywhere. It only depends on the tune being ... read more
