Maroon 5 - Songs About Jane
68

The heat is heat (Harder to Breathe, This Love, She Will be Loved, Sunday Morning, Must Get Out), but the rest is forgettable.

Oasis - (What's the Story) Morning Glory?
90

Basically all bangers, even based on the individual track ratings, can't believe this album only has an 82.

Bad Omens - CONCRETE JUNGLE [THE OST]
60

New songs are solid, as well as some of the remixes, but the misses miss badly.

Sleep Token - This Place Will Become Your Tomb
60

Missing a bit of the inspiration that made their first album so good, but still a solid album.

Sleep Token - Sundowning
75

Obviously influential, but a little one note.

Porter Robinson - SMILE! :D
85

65 > 85

The first listen through the album I wasn't ready for what Porter was trying to tell me: to stop taking myself so seriously. No one is perfect and this album is beautifully imperfect. There are some cuts that don't do it for me unlike Nurture (Kitsune Maison and Perfect Pinterest Garden, namely), but front to back the album has a lot to say and lays is message down clearly. The imperfect production is part of the theme of the album which I love and that fact makes the ... read more

Fred Falke - Part IV

How has no one heard this? Every track is amazing. Every. Single. One.

Eagles - Hotel California

Overall a lot, slower and much more acoustic then I was expecting. While imany of the tracks sort of feel like a template for every classic rock song youd hear on a classic rock station ever. The lyricism is undeniable, and there are a ton of SOLID tracks as well a pretty cohesive vision, flow, and structure throughout. My issue is honestly the lack of individual tracks that really HIT. Just a bunch of good songs, and nothing more. Having one of the single greatest songs of all time as the ... read more

Lil Dicky - Professional Rapper
50

Dicky can spit and is one of the most technically gifted rappers there is. He also may be the best freestyler on the planet right now
That being said, this album is too "silly" for it's own good. If you're a high school dude you may find the bars funny, and somehow i used to.

Yeah..

In retrospect though the lyrics are so corny he probably makes logic jealous. It's a shame though because beyond the cringe there is a talented individual.

Like on Let Me Freak if he ... read more

USHER - Confessions

The album has it's highs (Yeah, Confessions II, Simple Things) but it also is packed with so many meh to plain bad tracks it's hard for me to see what Apple was thinking putting this album in the top 100. Outside of Yeah, every songs sounds way too similar. Usher's vocal performance is excellent throughout, but some of the lyrics could've been written by a 12 year old. The production ranges from awful to good, but is much more frequently the former. It sounds have not aged well and critics at ... read more

Charli xcx - BRAT

80 -> 86 Can't stop listening

Super good and there are a ton of awesome tracks. I think the album opens kind of slow, the songs that are really only good to bop to in the club really drag this album down for me although that is a lot of her appeal to many people, not my thing.

These tracks include 360, Club Classics, Von Dutch, and 365.

The rest of the tracks with the exception of Talk, Talk are all super solid. With touching, thought provoking lyrics usually covering the Charlie ... read more

Lorde - Pure Heroine

One of my favorite pop albums of all time. It was awesome returning to it for the apple music top 100.

twenty one pilots - Trench
65

While the album has a lot of solid tracks, the lows are super low and is much less consistent than all of their other projects (except Regional At Best). I think a lot of people take the "darkness" and interpret it as maturity for some reason when in reality almost all the dark tracks tend to omit the parts of top's production that usually makes their music special.

twenty one pilots - Vessel

Not sure why this album isn't appreciated. With personal, often dark lyrics disguised under upbeat genre bending production. This album is the reason I fell in love with twenty one pilots and to this day there isn't a skip.

Porter Robinson - Nurture
100

100 > 100 This album reminded me to live. A warm hug of an album. Never has a piece of art reminded me of my own humanity in such an impactful way. Trying to write more, but to be honest words can't really do this album justice. An absolute masterpiece.

Daft Punk - Discovery
100

This album is basically everything you want. Well themed, paced, plenty of hits, and doesn't rest on a certain sound too long. Every single song goes hard as fuck. When I listened to it for the first time I added every song to my greatest hits playlist. When I went through to make an "Essential Daft Punk" playlist it was extraordinarily difficult to omit any songs from it. It has range too. From super emotional cuts like Something About Us to dance pop/club gems like Superheroes. ... read more

Travis Scott - ASTROWORLD
90

Honestly one of the best rap albums I've ever heard. Im not a big trap guy but the production on this album is so good even I cant deny its quality. Travis was in his bag, he basically didnt miss, with the exception of CAROUSEL. This album is also greater than the sum of it's parts, and it's parts are also pretty damn good. The flow between tracks is literally the best I've ever heard. Honestly a masterpiece and would be HIGHER on my top 100.

Robyn - Body Talk
68

I see what she was going for on this album, and there's some truly unique sounds throughout. The 3 track run of 9, 10, and 11 is just awful though. When this album works it's something special, but if this is a top 100 album in the eyes of critics its only because of it's potential. It's inconsistency is baffling too. With the first half of the album containing some wonderful and inspired writing, it's baffling the amount of uninspired basic lyricism throughout the latter half of the project. ... read more
