Imo Porcupine Tree went through 3 phases.
1. Wannabe Pink Floyd (Good)
2. Alt-rock (Their best imo)
3. Prog rock with a bit of prog metal here and there (their overrated one)
And ofc they are back with their latest phase, but...
I just think Steven isn't made for heavier stuff at all, sometimes he does good (Foabp), but it's usually kinda meh (Deadwing).
It's far from being as good as Foabp, but it's definitely a lot better than Deadwing.
Love how present the bass is.
Harridan is too long for what it has to offer.
Dignity is straight, one of their best songs ever.
Walk The Plank is shit and good at the same time, it's weird.
Chimera's Wreck has a nice build up.
Best songs: Dignity, Herd Culling, Chimera's Wreck.
So I'm glad they are back, I wish this album had anything more special, but it's good enough.

Yeah kind of, reminds me a bit of that era where they mixed both prog and alt. But it's way more proggier than altierrr.
