Rina Sawayama - SAWAYAMA

The pop formula has been widely exploited in today's music scene as one of the most common musical tropes to grace the medium. It feels as if every time I turn on the radio, which is quite rare, I hear the same tracks over and over. While this definitely has something to do with the closed minds of the 'radio announcer people / disc jockeys', I think that pop as a genre is musically under-saturated.

And here waltzes in Ms. SAWAYAMA, and yes, I'm referring to both the artist and this record. Blending elements of nu metal, electropop, romantic classical, and glitch house, this record encapsulates some of the most interesting and fulfilling genre-bending techniques I've ever heard, all under the guise of a genetically-engineered behemoth of a record. This will be hard to top in the future, but if she does, it will be even more of an instant classic than this one.

@Bryce6750 I haven't gotten around to updating all of my reviews since I changed my rating scale lol! While I used to have this rated in probably the mid-to-high 80s, that rating wouldn't translate to what it is now. I only return to a couple tracks here and there on this record, as my tastes and wants have changed since this was released, ya dig?

The body of this text in itself is flawless, but idk if it pays off for the mess that is this Rating , altho you seemed to adore this in every sense, manner,shape and form, on this commentary ...
