You have quite hard taste to get a handle on, a lot of prog in your highest rated stuff and that's not what the 90s has to offer really....but the 90s are my specialty I guess. If you like Godspeed YBE then Mogwai's first three or four albums are essential. Also Bark Psychosis are another I'd expect you to find interesting. If you like Slint then listen to The For Carnation which are sort of a spin off band, - that one came out in 2000.

Hey, I'm doing a list of peoples worst albums they ever heard and giving my opinions on them. What's the worst album you've heard?
Mar 29, 2020
I've got a top 100 (and 20 under 50% rated albums) for every year back to 1987 (excluding 2020 obviously) - hopefully top 100s will fill out for all the 60s, 70s and 80s over time. There's too much music :D

Alright hahaha just making sure. He looks good with the long hair, though, so take it as a compliment ;)

What album should I review?

Yeezus by Kanye West
Kid A by Radiohead
Reflektor by Arcade Fire

If you want to see what I rate in the middle range check my 2.5 and 3 ratings on my RYM account
Mar 28, 2020
I only rate my top 100 for each year so 50-65 scores rarely qualify - instead I give them a NR.

I’d find it hard to score in that range anyway - a 51% compared to a 56%? Mediocre range.

Eventually expect to see no ratings in the 50-69% range - might take a year or so to come about.

Funny you should bring them up, they’re actually on my list to investigate further - I only know that one and Teapot. Which album(s) of theirs do you most recommend?

Hey, I have a song out! When you have the chance to, give it a listen. Haven't added it to AOTY yet, so here the YouTube music video link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5a0jTc9S10

I wrote this song and filmed the video while in quarantine. Took many inspirations from Chinese folk and alt-country. The concept of the video and song, I'll leave as a surprise (no spoilers of course), plus it's up to interpretation. Hope I can cheer some people up and get everyone together in these uncertain times, enjoy!

I love how you add a different color to each review. I think that the ability to associate a color with music is a fantastic gift. It really gives some character to your reviews and sets you apart from a lot of other users on here. Keep up the good work πŸ™‚

New song out please listen and rate when you get the chance!

https://www.albumoftheyear.org/album/212654-aziz-fort-bend-intro.php

This song is a reflection of modern trap music in Houston, inspired by the mass graveyard reveal in the mid-2010s that forever plagued the citizens of Fort Bend (a county in Houston) and it's the reveal of a not so welcoming past. Its a concept I will dive deeper on my EP

I have yet to have time to master vocals. I had lyrics written down and everything but the mixing would have been trash. I will wait until the summer to learn how to master vocals, however the song itself I will leave as my instrumental intro.

Hey man, hope your doing well! I have a recommendation I think you’ll dig, knowing your such a prog fan, it’s from the Canterbury prog scene and is called “In the land of grey and pink” by Caravan. Such a gratifying listen!

i'm really intrigued on how you listen to music. what do you do while listening to an album? do you write notes or browse social media?i'm interested since youve managed to review and rate over 1000 records, which is really shocking.

great reviews btw, short n sweet

Deathconsciousness is probably my favorite album of all time.

I always interpreted it as a hopeful and motivating album (which my friends called me insane for) but I think it represents me quite well!

https://www.albumoftheyear.org/album/210453-aziz-the-life-death-of-anna-karenina.php

The second song I've ever made. A song I made because of heartbreak but finished because of benzodiazepines. This song is supposed the relate the Life of Anna Karenina from old Russian literature and her story in music form and how a person feels after a breakup and/or isolation. Truly some of my darkest work. I only add rap vocals twice to the song. once in a transition and once at the end. There a lot is crooning and ambiance but since I don't loop music you shouldn't get bored. I hope you enjoy it

Please give me feedback and please rate (it can be positive or negative, whatever you feel)
