While not on par with the band's magnum opuses, some songs being weaker than others on here, In Times New Roman sees QOTSA pull out some bangers to show that despite everything that happened on the last few years, they've sailed through the storm and can look back at it , older yet stronger.
Although on the one hand less impactful than its predecessor, and less consistent, Monument on the other hand gets less repetitive, and still is filled with coldwave bangers. Pretty underrated, and even if a couple tracks feel lacking, they're outnumbered by great ones.
Gets a bit redundant after a while, but I really dig this album's vibe, very cool russian-speaking coldwave.
Some songs on here don't work as well as they could, but it's consistently good overall. An enjoyable project all the way through with surprisingly strong and uplifting moments.
Glimmering landscapes of sounds keep passing by for the whole length of this album. Lost myself to it while listening, and loved the experience.
Didn't know Elder beforehand but I'll definitely try to listen to more of their work after this.
