✦ The Year Is 2021. ✦

This list is pretty self-explanatory, I'll be listing every single 2021 album I listen to here, and at the end of the year I should have a pretty conclusive list.
I'll be trying to listen to a bit more albums this year than I did last year :)

Bicep - Isles

"This album is packed full of wondrous textures and sounds, creating an immersive atmosphere throughout the entire project. It grabs and pulls you deep with the first track, introducing you to the general idea and quality of the record."

Cult of Luna - The Raging River

An absolutely amazing sludge metal record. Really highlights the genres capabilities here with fantastic vocals and instrumentation. This album is all meat, no bones, no filler. It forces you straight into it's madness and you will find it quite difficult to escape, with the beautifully psychedelic walls of noise.
Dobo Oopo - Presenting... Dobo Oopo

I love well done noise and experimental albums, and this is no difference. Some of the tracks here are absolutely wonderfully done. Some really amazing and immersive sounds here!
Fire Man - Overcoming the Cycle of Sun Collapse
5.

"This EP is filled to the brim with noisy, punky, rocky production. I'm a big fan of noise rock, so naturally these factors were quite beneficial for me. The entirety of this EP follows a relatively similar sound/style, one that is specific enough to bring cohesion at least. The guitar tones, drums, etc, are all great!"

Nick Cave & Warren Ellis - CARNAGE
6.

Mostly enjoyable, but I find the experience becoming a bit tiresome and unmemorable by the end.
Very strong first half though.
Weezer - OK Human
14.

"It's an album full of genuinely interesting and (some) relatively unique ideas that are plagued with poor lyricism, extremely underwhelming production, and generally uninteresting delivery."

slowthai - TYRON
15.
58
"Slowthai's new release shows a more mature and developed side of himself, with well produced beats and some decent lyricism, held back by some major mistakes and overlooks."

Bodhisattya Pal - Astronomer's Dilemma

Though my original score was 50, in reality it would be nearing 0.
I get a large amount of enjoyment by how bad this record is, even humorous.
The Dirty Nil - Fuck Art
18.
48
I don't completely hate this. It has some pretty good moments.
Most of this album is simply very uninteresting/filler. It's extremely standard and mainstream. No real reason to return to anything that is displayed on here.
Danny L Harle - HARLECORE

2014 called, they want their album back ;)
In all seriousness, everything in this record sounds SO dated and uninteresting it's actually unbelievable. Obnoxious and unmemorable.
Most of these tracks have relatively good ideas but they are executed terribly and I will likely never return to this.
Sad because I was actually a bit excited for this :(

This is what my 80 year old grandfather with dementia thinks electronic music sounds like.
Zayn - Nobody Is Listening
20.
29
No, Zayn, some people definitely ARE listening.
We just don't like it.
Bonedrip - SoulSearcher
21.
20
Painfully boring and uninteresting. Nothing new is explored, and everything that is displayed is terrible.
Ashnikko - DEMIDEVIL
22.
10
Genuinely horrendous.
Can't get any enjoyment out of anything on here, blown away that it has anything even above 40.
